Postcard Virus: “You’ve Received A Postcard From A Family Member”

I got this forwarded email in my inbox today: “Fwd: MONSTER VIRUS COMING - BEWARE OF POSTCARD EMAILS.” At first, I was going to delete it because I didn’t believe it and I thought it would never affect me.  I decided to read and research it for you anyway, however, and post the email for you today. I may not fall for it, but I’m sure my mom might fall for it.

Here’s what the forwarded email says:

-Begin-
You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with an attachment entitled ‘POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK,’ regardless of who sent it to you. It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which ‘burns’ the whole hard disc C of your computer. This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list.

This is the reason why you need to send this e-mail to all your contacts. It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it. If you receive a mail called ‘POSTCARD,’ even though sent to you by a friend, do not open it! Shut down your computer immediately.

This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever.

This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus.

This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept.
-End-

This is a real worm and it destryed my computer. I keep getting emails in my junk file from “Hallmark.con”. It has infected both my computer and laptop.
This happened right after I installed Panda Secuity Software on both systems. I then found an “exclusion” for thie W32/mydoom.h.c.worm in my antivirus in my Panda Security. I wonder if this worm was in my download or if just the exclusion was there.
